Partner 14. Morana RTD.


Morana RTD company was established in 2004 in Ljubljana, Slovenia. It's a research intensive micro-company, with the main focus in the field of heritage science, advising, education and publishing. Research projects focus on the development of new products, such as a novel micro-destructive pH system and applications for NIR spectrometers, which enable facile, rapid and non-destructive identification and characterisation of cultural heritage materials. Morana RTD also carry out evaluation and development of conservation processes. Research partners include the Faculty of Chemistry and Chemical Technology of University of Ljubljana (Slovenia), the Naational Archief (The Netherlands), and the University College London, Centre for Sustainable Heritage.

Key Persons

 

Jana Kolar is Director General of Science Directorate for Higher Education at the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Technology – Slovenia. Received a Ph.D. in Chemistry in 1998 from University of Ljubljana, Slovenia. In 1990 she was employed by the Conservation department of the National and University Library and between 2005-2009 as the head of the Laboratory for Cultural Heritage. She was director of Morana RTD between 2004-2009 and co-ordinator of international projects within 5th, 6th and 7th EU framework programmes and a partner in several international projects (FP7, FP6, FP5, Eureka, Cost and Culture 2000). Other activities included: Co-ordinator of the ICOM-CC group on Graphic documents (2006-2009); Co-editor of 2 books: Ageing and Stabilisation of Paper and Iron Gall Inks: On Manufacture, Characterisation, Degradation and Stabilisation. Jana Kolar has published more than 50 papers in international peer-reviewed journals and 13 chapters in books.
