Title: Environmental impact assessment   Type of Activity: RTD

Objectives:

The main goal of this WP will be to generate reliable scientific information and data, by using appropriate methodologies, to understand the potential environmental and health impacts of developed products for cultural heritage application, focussing the efforts on formulations based on barium compounds. In detail, specific objectives will be:

• To evaluate the potential toxic effects of chemicals and components that will be selected and used for the design of formulation of nano-based products for cultural heritage.
• To define and apply appropriate techniques and methodologies to quantify possible long-term risks, i.e. migration of nanoparticles from products into the environment and/or health risk for end-users.
• To develop realistic exposure scenarios for human and ecological targets.
